Bike: 2006 – R1
Description:
The story
After I moved to the States and left my bike behind (sold it) I had been without
a bike for a while when my kids came over for a visit. Well being that they had
followed their Dad into bikes they wanted to go and look for some jackets that
maybe weren’t available in the UK, so off we went to the dealer, as I said I’d
buy them both one.
This was 2006 and there in the dealer was a Yellow Anniversary R1, the Yamaha
color scheme I had been raised on and I fell in love all over again. So to cut a
long story short those 2 jackets cost me about $11,00.00
I was as happy as a pig in $hit and thought I had the best looking bike out
there.
Then came the Forums
Well needless to say I realized that there were a few rather nice bikes out
there and that they seemed to have some rather nice mods.
Well my bike was beautiful (to me anyway) but it appeared that it could be
better and so started the addiction.
5 years later this is where she is now at, not finished by any means but a
little different from when I picked her up.

After I moved to the States and left my bike behind (sold it) I had been without
a bike for a while when my kids came over for a visit. Well being that they had
followed their Dad into bikes they wanted to go and look for some jackets that
maybe weren’t available in the UK, so off we went to the dealer, as I said I’d
buy them both one.
This was 2006 and there in the dealer was a Yellow Anniversary R1, the Yamaha
color scheme I had been raised on and I fell in love all over again. So to cut a
long story short those 2 jackets cost me about $11,00.00
I was as happy as a pig in $hit and thought I had the best looking bike out
there.
Then came the Forums
Well needless to say I realized that there were a few rather nice bikes out
there and that they seemed to have some rather nice mods.
Well my bike was beautiful (to me anyway) but it appeared that it could be
better and so started the addiction.
5 years later this is where she is now at, not finished by any means but a
little different from when I picked her up.

followed their Dad into bikes they wanted to go and look for some jackets that
maybe weren’t available in the UK, so off we went to the dealer, as I said I’d
buy them both one.
This was 2006 and there in the dealer was a Yellow Anniversary R1, the Yamaha
color scheme I had been raised on and I fell in love all over again. So to cut a
long story short those 2 jackets cost me about $11,00.00
I was as happy as a pig in $hit and thought I had the best looking bike out
there.
Then came the Forums
Well needless to say I realized that there were a few rather nice bikes out
there and that they seemed to have some rather nice mods.
Well my bike was beautiful (to me anyway) but it appeared that it could be
better and so started the addiction.
5 years later this is where she is now at, not finished by any means but a
little different from when I picked her up.
